Herb Baum Saves Sick Miami Street Dog
I would like to thank Herb Baum (former CEO of Dial Soap, Inc.) and current board member of Furry Friends in Jupiter, Florida, for helping me save a very sick (near death) Miami street dog. Without question and with an open heart, Herb Baum was kind enough to donate a large sum of money for a cancer stricken street dog. This is not the first time that Mr. Baum has supported my rescue efforts. Although he has never asked for a formal thank you, or any form of public gratitude– I would like to take a moment and tell you about Duke.
Duke is a sweet bull dog mix. He is kept as a security dog and lives out his life in a yucky back yard in the slums of Miami. I took in Duke’s sister to get spayed, and noticed that something was wrong with Duke. Turns out I was right! He has what is believed to be a cancerous tumor in his groin area.
When Herb heard about my predicament with treating Duke, not only did I receive a generous check for Duke’s current vet bill, but Herb and Karen Baum pledged to pay for his cancer treatment. Just like that!
Thank you, Mr. Baum!
